Frances’s story began at just 11 years old, picking grapefruit in her backyard to save up for her first car. To bring her vision to life, Frances sought knowledge and mentorship. That search led her to Legacy EV’s EV Fundamentals Certification Bootcamp, where she gained hands-on experience with EV wiring, programming, and safety systems. “It was such a cool experience to be surrounded by so many people who wanted to become certified in electric vehicles,” Frances shared. “Now, I’m starting to inspire myself, and I hope to inspire other kids—and even parents—along the way,” she says. Her project has also brought her closer to her father, Daniel Farnam, who has been her biggest supporter. “It’s not just a cool, shiny car,” Daniel reflects. “It’s the time we’re spending together and inspiring other families to get out there and do more.”
Despite her impressive achievements, Frances’s electric Porsche 914 is still a work in progress. To complete her build, she’s actively seeking sponsorships and partnerships. “I never imagined this project would turn into something so big,” she admits.
